Deegan had another dominating weekend pulling off 3rd place at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, during round four of the Global Rallycross Championship! In the second heat of Saturday nights race, Deegan and his Rockstar /Metal Mulisha/ Motegi Ford Fiesta battled Ken Block to be first off the line in Heat 2 and pushed full throttle to the end. He finished first in the heat securing a front line starting position for the Final round.
Deegan lined in the front row of the final rounds behind Tanner Foust and Travis Pastrana. Deegan moved swiftly through the cars taking a non-traditional approach to the joker lap, unfortunately that gamble didn’t pay off and set him too far back to take over the lead.
“This was a good race, I didn’t drive my best but I know what I need to do to improve for next race. I hit the joker in the middle of the race, taking a big risk, and came out battling two of the drivers in the back. Once I got past them, Travis was too far gone and I ended up in third.” – Deegan.
Deegan is currently ranked third in points closely following the overall points leader, Fiesta teammate Tanner Foust. Deegan is also neck and neck with Foust for the bonus Discount Time Award – given to the driver with the most points in the final three races (TX, NH & – the winner will receive an additional $25,000). Deegan will meet up with the Global Rallycross Championship for round five at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in mid-September.
Deegan is excited to be part of the GRC movement that continues to gain momentum and being part of a series with other great drivers that is on track to being the top motorsports series is the US.
